Found some really fascinating articles about Nolan's The Oddysey and the issue of modern Greek's place.

Because I haven't written it elsewhere for memory-keeping, this is a movie I didn't feel particularly enthused to watch. Not for any particularly reason, I just don't like watching modern movies. I am perfectly content with enjoying the last hundred years of cinema and even longer for other forms of entertainment. Alas, my family dragged me to it. Fortunately I don't spend time on social media to have known or know more about the conversation aside from the links I just shared.

My initial thoughts from these readings are that Hollywood and American industry as a whole is extractive of other people's cultures to suit their own interests, artistic or otherwise. It was at the dawn of American cinema when they made movies based on Greek myths and the Bible with white actors and I think this new movie about the epic is the exact same. There's gotta be a list somewhere.
